Frozen Situation
Vicki Robertson kindly informed me of this remarkable situational intervention in Grand Central Station, New York. I cite it here as evidence that the ideas formulated by the Situationists in the 1950s and ’60s are still alive.
What is remarkable about an intervention such as this is that it is so much more powerful than the so-called “transgressive” art we see hermetically sealed off from the everyday world in art galleries and museums. See Improv Everywhere link1, Improvise Everywhere link 2, and also GRL and The Institute for Infinitely Small Things.
